Training

Hand-Eye Coordination

Link visual information with controlled catching, striking and object handling.

General educational information. Rules, coaching practices and safety requirements vary by sport, age, venue and governing body.

Track the object early

Pick up the ball, puck or shuttle as soon as possible and keep the head stable enough to judge its path.

Use appropriate difficulty

Large, slow objects and short distances help beginners. Reduce size, increase speed or add movement gradually.

Practise receiving, not just reacting

Soft hands, body position and follow-through help control the object after contact.

Use both predictable and live tasks

Repetition develops technique; variable feeds and game-like play develop adaptation.

Protect shared spaces

Use safe balls indoors, clear breakable objects and provide enough distance between participants.
